CLIFOOD Media Didactic Seminar I: “Perspectives of the digital change for academic teaching”

Media Didactic Seminar is a part of the qualification program for CLIFOOD Scholars. Sequence of two media didactic seminars was offered to CLIFOOD Scholars in the framework of the Block Seminar 6 in Hawassa University. The first CLIFOOD Media Didactic Seminar “Perspectives of the digital change for academic teaching” with a trainer from the Cooperative University of Kenya took place on October 2-3 2019. The trainer of the Media Didactic Seminar Prof. Dr. John Kihoro, Professor of Applied Statistics, Director, Computing and eLearning, offered an extensive two-days training program and covered urgent issues of the digital change for academic teaching:
- Digital transformation and the “future University”
- Exploring the digital world: a collection of available tools and technologies for technology supported learning
- The LMS based learning: Advances and challenges. Introduction to MOODLE LMS
- MOODLE LMS courses: Demo of e-courses (1) in general features and social forums, (2) with video and live streaming, (3) dynamic features management and gamification
- Mobile e-learning : The mobile App for MOODLE
Supervised by Prof. Kihoro, participants of the training utilized an opportunity to practice their skills in MOODLE, got a competent advice and thus advanced themselves in media didactic methods.
