This transferable skills course provided an overview of the national and international research funding landscape and current calls for proposals. The course was designed to help graduate students and postdoctoral scholars understand how to select and approach individual funding programs to build resources and skills for further career development. The goal was for participants to recognize the opportunities and challenges associated with external research funding, identify funding opportunities for different research areas, and understand what constitutes a fundable research project to ultimately develop a competitive research proposal.
